So much to discuss today, so please bear with me! First, let's discuss my pink day. The pink box was produced because I had a dip in my vaginal readings followed by a rise. This correlated with my oral 'cue peak' on CD 4. Once the 'cue peak was detected, it predicted out my fertile window and began interpreting my vaginal readings. Over the past couple cycles, I've typically ovulated around CD 14 or 15, therefore, CD 12 seems very early!
But now, my vaginal readings are dropping again. What does this mean? Well, well, well....once I noticed this, I looked back at my oral readings. It appears that I've had TWO other 'cue peaks'. Please look at CD 8 and CD 11 - both are the beginning of a 'cue peak'. It looks like I'm a bit irregular this cycle. So, given that my vaginal readings are dropping and I detect more then one 'cue peak' - I'm thinking that I may have secondary fertility this cycle. I decided to test with OPK's this month and didn't receive a positive until CD 14. I thought that I had missed my lh surge earlier but then was surprised to see a positive OPK after my pink box. This also correlates with secondary fertility. My body wasn't able to rupture the first follicle (for one reason or another - likely due to a hormonal imbalance) and once it discovered that, another follicle was selected, hence secondary fertility. Luckily, the monitor is able to detect that my vaginal readings are dropping again and I'm still in my fertile window.
One last thing I'd like to point out - you'll notice that today's status shows 'not fertile'. Remember, once the oral sensor predicts our your fertile window - only the vaginal sensor will refine your fertile window. After the pink box, I received a medium blue box followed by a light blue box. This indicates to me that my fertile window is extending. Tonight when I take a reading, if it is a low vaginal reading, the monitor will again produce a light blue day (notifying me that I'm still in my fertile window) - if my vaginal reading spikes, it will produce a purple box. In this case of secondary fertility, the purple box overrides the pink box.
Looking at my vaginal readings and positive OPK, I expect ovulation to occur any day now!
