And it begins....

Hey Everyone,

Thanks for checking out my brand new blog! I’m very excited and looking forward to sharing information will all of you as my cycle progresses, so please, please, feel free to post any comments or questions – I would love some feedback, too!

I thought it may be beneficial to give a little background about myself before I begin posting about my menstrual cycle…..so here goes….

As you know, my name is Sarah and I’m currently 24 years old. I have been working with Fairhaven Health for about a year and a half now, and let me tell you, I had no idea how much I would learn about my body working for this company. I have always been passionate about women and health, but never expected to enjoy charting my fertility as much as I do (ask my girlfriends, I LOVE it). All throughout college, I was on and off birth control, never finding the one that felt right. Finally, I decided to go off of birth control and soon learned that a ‘regular’ cycle wasn’t easy to come by. I’ve now been off of birth control for over a year and have finally started to see a ‘somewhat regular’ cycle, ranging from 25 -28 days currently. Over the last year and a half, I have tried tracking my fertility every which way: basal body charting, cervical mucus consistency, saliva ovulation microscopes, lh test strips, and a couple of different fertility monitors. I feel quite lucky to have the OvaCue at my fingertips and have found it to be very accurate and easy to use!

Starting tomorrow, cycle day 2 (second day of my period), I will begin using my OvaCue. You can begin using the OvaCue by cycle day 4 at the very latest – however, I always like to start on cycle day 2, allowing the monitor to gather as much data as possible (especially because I tend to have a cycle on the shorter side). I will be using both the oral sensor and vaginal sensor – however, I don’t begin the vaginal sensor until my period has ended.

Please check back tomorrow, as I will begin providing you with my oral readings!
